Jaipur, March 9: In a peaceful ceremony on Sunday, a church in a tribal-dominated village in Rajasthan's Banswara district was officially converted into a temple after several families chose to return to Hinduism. The church priest, now the temple priest, confirmed the conversion.
According to Banswara Superintendent of Police Harsh Vardhan, the priest, Gautam Garasia, had originally embraced Christianity and built the church in his village of Sodla Guda, located in the Gangadtalai area. The church, constructed around a year and a half ago on his private property, was transformed into a Hindu temple after Garasia reverted to Hinduism.
