Sambalpur, Sep 8: On the occasion of agrarian festival Nuakhai, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the CM Kisan Yojana in Odisha.
The Chief Minister also launched the CM Kisan portal at Gangadhar Meher University auditorium here.
Around 46 lakh farmers including landless farmers received Rs 925 crore under the CM Kisan Yojana. The assistance was transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers.
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to farmers who are not covered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana. Eligible farmers will receive a total of Rs 4,000 in two phases.
On the occasion of Nuakhai, the first instalment of Rs 2,000 was distributed and the remaining Rs 2,000 will be provided on Akshaya Tritiya.
