Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ensured free super specialty treatment of a 7-year boy from Boudh who reportedly lost his vision.
On being informed about the child’s distress and the parents’ penury, Majhi asked the state health department on Monday to provide best possible care to the kid.
According to report, Pratyush Giri (7), son of Herambha Giri suffered from an unidentified disease that led to loss of his sight.
Despite extensive efforts by Pratyush’s family members in the district headquarters hospital despite financial constraint, the boy’s vision could not be retrieved. Thus, the parents sought assistance from the Chief Minister at the CM’s grievance cell for better care of their lad.
Acknowledging the critical nature of the ailment, Chief Minister Majhi promptly arranged for an ambulance to transport Pratyush to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment.
“The child has been shifted to the SCB Medical College & Hospital. Essential medical aid will be provided to him free of cost,” said Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
