Bhubaneswar, November 2: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi recently criticized the previous government for delays in the Lower Suktel irrigation project, calling it a missed opportunity for the region's development
Speaking at a public meeting in Bolangir, Majhi informed that the project, which has been stalled for years, could have provided critical irrigation facilities and a reliable water source for farmers in western Odisha.
He said “ A particular government ruled Odisha for more than 24 years, But, farmers of the state could not get 35 percent water for irrigation. Irrigation facilities are limited in Bolangir though the district gets less rainfall”.
He emphasized that his administration is committed to expediting the project, ensuring that it becomes fully functional as soon as possible.
CM Majhi assured the public that his government is actively working to short out the hurdles and accelerate the project’s completion, positioning it as a key initiative to boost agricultural productivity in Bolangir district and its adjacent area.
