Bhubaneswar, Dec 30:The Commissionerate Police on Monday arrested a con woman from Bhubaneswar on the charges of duping gallants.
The con woman’s partner was also held by the police for aiding her in the financial frauds.
Portraying herself as a top- bureaucrat’s wife and closet person of ace politicians the woman allegedly cheated moneyed people especially builders, mine owners, MNC partners promising high-valued tenders and big deals relating to politics.
The con woman has been identified as Hansita Abhilipsa (38) and her aide is known as Anil Mohanty.
According to the sleuths, the duo was running an office on the Infocity-Nandankanan Road to fool their victims.
Based on a complaint lodged by a mine owner, the Commissionerate Police forwarded the duo to court today.
Further investigation into the matter is underway to rule out other’s connivance in the con-network. Complaints from other victims are also awaited, said an investigation officer.
