Hyderabad, April 8:The Falaknuma Express faced an accident on Tuesday while traveling to Shalimar in West Bengal, via Visakhapatnam.
The running train split into two sections during its journey as its coupling broke down all of a sudden.
The mishap took place near Summadevi in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, triggering panic and alarm among passengers. Fortunately, no casualty was reported even, nobody was injured due to the mishap.
According to the information shared by railway officials, two AC coaches of the train were detached near Palasa without any warning. Subsequently, the train split into two, with one end still attached to the engine.
Follwing the incident, the railways safety personnel rushed at the scene and conducted necessary repairs and addressed the issues.After ensuring all safety protocols were met, the train resumed its journey for its destinations.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the precise cause behind the incident.
