Bhubaneswar: Even as the Cyclone Fengal is located close to Sri Lanka coasts, the clouds of the cyclonic system have clouded most parts of the Central Bay of Bengal skyline. The cloud rays of the system have enveloped the skyline of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh et al.
The State Capital Bhubaneswar Skyline seems clouded by the cloud rays of the cyclonic system Fengal. When the State Capital has been recording below normal temperature (both maximum and minimum) since November 22, lending a nip in the air, the clouded skyline courtesy Cyclone Fengal will infuse a weather change from November 29 onwards.
BHUBANESWAR WEATHER
A glance at the models of IMD, NCMRWF and ECMWF shows the following weather observations for the State Capital till December 7
- The day time mercury will plummet by 2-4 deg C below normal on Nov 30, Dec 1 and 2
- Maximum temperature will bounce back to over 28 deg C from Dec 4.
- The minimum temperature that has been hovering around 15 deg C since Nov 23 will saw a spike from Nov 28.
- The model prediction is the minimum temperature in the Capital city will rise by 2-3 deg C to measure at 19/20 deg C
- With a rain in the range of 4mm during the night hours of Nov 29, the relative humidity in Bhubaneswar air will rise to a high of around 95% on Nov 30, Dec 1 and 2.
- Fall in daytime temperature by 2-4 deg C and around 95% humidity in air will make the weather of Temple Town chilly on Nov 29, 30. To some extent on Dec 2.
- Rain has also been predicted on Nov 30 and Dec 1.
CUTTACK WEATHER
- As per the model predictions, the day time mercury in Cuttack is predicted to remain at around 26 deg Con Nove 29, nearly 3 degree below normal.
- November 30 will be coldest day for Cuttack as the mercury will drop to around 22 deg C during the day time courtesy the cloudy skies.
- The minimum temperature, however, will post a rise by 2-3 deg C to touch 20 deg C.
- With relative humidity in air ruling over 80% on Nov 30 and Dec 1, the denizens of Cuttack have to bear a chilly weather.
- Night of 29 Nov will see a spell of rain in the Silver City.
- The day time temperature is predicted to rise back to 29 deg C by Dec 4.
ODISHA WEATHER
Following the formation of Cyclone Fengal in Bay of Bengal, the State’s weather will witness the following conditions.
- The whole of western Odisha will record a rise in minimum temperature to around 20 deg C from Nov 30
- Some trace amount rainfall likely in western Odisha on Nov 30 and Dec 1.
- However, the day time temperature in whole of the region will record a dip by 2-4 deg C.
- The maximum temperature in Sambalpur may drop to 20 Deg C on Nov 30 and Dec 1 courtesy clouded skyline.
- Maximum temperature in Jharsuguda may drop to 24 deg C.
- Rourkela will also feel the Chilly weather along with Sambalpur, as the Maximum temperature in the Steel city will drop to around 20 deg C on Nov 30 and Dec 1.
- The cities of Samabalpur and Rourkela may record 1-2mm rainfall, suggest modle forecasts.
- Western Odisha will see aspike in maximum temperature from Dec 4 onwards
- And, night-time dip in mercury to resume from Dec 6 onwards.
