Bhubaneswar, Mar 9: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted that the day temperature is likely to rise gradually by 3-5 degrees Celsius across Odisha over the next four to five days.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, the minimum temperature is also likely to go up by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the same period.
The weather department further forecasted that the maximum temperature in Balangir, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and Sonepur districts is expected to reach 40°C or higher over the next five days.
In Bhubaneswar and its surrounding areas, the Met Department predicted mainly clear skies for the next 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35°C and 21°C, respectively.
Boudh recorded the highest temperature in the state at 38°C, while Phulbani registered the lowest minimum temperature at 13°C. As of 8:30 AM today, Bhubaneswar reported a temperature of 35.4°C.
