The legend and cult classic Director Priyadarshan Thursday announced the launch of Herapheri 3 on his Happy Birthday.

Well Known Director Priyadarshan turned 68 today. On his 68th birthday, Priyadarshan is busy shooting the upcoming comedy horror movie Bhoot Bangla starring Akshay Kumar.
The superstar Akki took on to X to wish his favourite mentor-director his Happy Birthday wish.
Akshay wrote: “Happy Birthday Priyan Sir! What better way to celebrate than by spending the day on a haunted set , surrounded by ghosts – both real and unpaid extras? Thank you for being a mentor, and the only person who can make chaos look like a masterpiece. May your day be filled with fewer retakes. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead @priyadarshandir.

Even as majority of X users exults in disbelief after Priyadarshan drops the L-Bomb, some users took a jab at the famous director for 19 years delay.
The rejoice among a large swathe of X users reveal how eager are the fans waiting to witness the Hera Pheri 3 return.
HERA PHERI 3 STORY
As many X users have expressed their disbelief when Priyadarshan makes this announcement over X has been due to the following sequence of actions in the past.
Everyone expecting the Part 3 since 2006, and the reason has been that as the second film ended with a cliffhanger, cine buffs were of the firm belief that a third film was planned.
First, the production was delayed for a long time due to some issues at that point of time. Finally, the project got shelved dashing their exalted hopes.
When the announcement came out today, social media see a heavy downpour of emotions.
HERA PHERI FRANCHISE DREAMRUN
The Hera Pheri franchise has come in 2 parts so far.
Hera Pheri first hits the silverscreen in year 2000. The comedy film raked Rs 64 lakh on day 1. In the first weekend, it grossed Rs 1.97cr. The film saw a total footfall of 82,65 lakh. The film collected 123 cr net at the Box office.
In 2006, the sequel Phir Hera Pheri released. The film saw a footfall of 1.15cr. The net box office collection stood at Rs 111cr.
Over the years, both the films attained the status of cult classic.
