New Delhi, March 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday conveyed his warm wishes for the occasion of Holi, hoping that the festival would infuse new energy and excitement into people's lives while promoting national unity.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi highlighted Holi's role in uniting people and fostering a sense of harmony. "Wishing everyone a very Happy Holi. This joyous festival will bring new enthusiasm and energy to all and deepen the colours of unity among citizens," he wrote in Hindi.
At the same time, Prime Minister Modi returned to the national capital after wrapping up a two-day state visit to Mauritius. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgool and the people and government of Mauritius for their warm hospitality. During the second day of his visit, PM Modi attended the National Day parade in Port Louis and offered prayers at the sacred Ganga Talao, where thousands of people lined the streets for miles to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.
On Wednesday, PM Modi was honored with the highest civilian award of Mauritius, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean. This marks the second time PM Modi has been invited as the Chief Guest for Mauritius' National Day, the first being in 2015. The award ceremony, held during the National Day celebrations, saw thousands braving heavy rain to witness the moment.
Additionally, during his visit, PM Modi also participated in a significant religious ceremony at the Ganga Talao, where he mixed holy water brought from the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
