Bhubaneswar: Both the unseeded players of India, Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar and Tharun Mannepalli enter the men’s singles final of the Odisha Masters to be held on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.
In the semifinals on Saturday, Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar win over eighth seed Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul (Thailand) by 21-17, 21-14 and in another semifinal match, racing from the back Tharun Mannepalli edged out his country-mate sixth seed Sathish Kumar Karunakaran 12-21, 21-19, 21-12.
Similarly, in the women’s singles final, Tanvi Sharma of India will face CAI Yan Yan of China on Sunday. In the semifinals held on Saturday, Tanvi and Yan Yan defeated Sorano Yoshhikawa (Japan) and Shriyanshi Valishetty (India) by 21-17, 21-19 and 21-19, 21-19 respectively.
In the men’s doubles final, seventh seed China pair Huang Di and Liu Yang will meet Japanese duo Kakeru Kumagai and Hiroki Nishi. Similarly in the women’s doubles final, Japanese team Nanako Hara and Riko Kiyose will meet Chinese team Keng Shu Liang and Chnwang Ting Ge.
