Bhubaneswar, December 14: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a slew of developmental projects for Malkangiri district, including a Rs 4,000 crore cement factory aimed at boosting local employment and infrastructure.
The announcement came after a high-level review meeting held at the DRDA Conference Hall in Malkangiri, which was attended by Minister Nityananda Gond, MP Balabhadra Majhi, regional authorities, and senior officials.
Highlighting the state's focus on the development of Swabhiman Anchal, the Chief Minister emphasized that the projects would be implemented under the direct supervision of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern) and the District Collector.
One of the key announcements was the establishment of a cement factory in the district, projected to generate employment for 2,000 youths. This industrial venture is expected to catalyze economic growth in the region.
In addition to industrial development, CM Majhi announced plans for a six-lane special corridor connecting southern Odisha to the northern region. The proposed corridor will stretch from Motu in Malkangiri to Tiring in Mayurbhanj, enhancing connectivity and regional integration.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of advancing railway projects in the district, with land acquisition processes set to begin soon.
These initiatives underline the Odisha government's commitment to transforming Malkangiri into a hub of industrial and infrastructural growth, fostering opportunities for local communities.
