Bhubaneswar, February 15: While the 3rd Day of the Budget Session in Odisha Assembly went stormy on Saturday for uproars of oppositions, Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra and Congress Legislator Tara Prasad Bahinipati, locked horns over illegal paddy procurement.
The tug-of war between Patra and Bahinipati that continued for a pretty longtime during the Governor’s address hampered other proceeding in the house till the afternoon.
Underlining the inconvenience faced by the paddy croppers in the PACs while fetching their paddy, Jeypore MLA Bahinipati alleged that the Food Supplies Minister has engaged unscrupulous collection agents of his own for every PACs and LAMPs across the state on his own interest. Specifying some agents’ surnames, Bahinipati alleged that Odisha Food Supplies Minister Patra is collecting lump sums in Rs lakh through the agents, from the godowns.
Responding to Bahinipati’s accusation Patra said,the allegations raised against him are false & baseless. Bahinipati, who has been always defamed as a tall-talker in the Odisha Assembly wreaking chaos with highlighting discreditable non-issues, is envious of the BJP’s clean and transparent ways of governance. However, he urged the senior Congress Legislator to present tangible documents and circumstantial evidence corroborating his allegations.
