Bhubaneswar, Nov 5: The former MLA of Laxmipur Purnachandra Majhi passed away at the age of 42. He was suffering from a liver-related illness since long.
He was admitted to Bhubaneswar AIIMS for treatment a few days ago. He succumbed to his illness while under treatment.
Purnachandra, was the son of former minister and senior Congress leader Anantarama Majhi. Following the demise of his father in 2007, Purnachandra entered politics and successfully contested as the Congress candidate in a by-election.
The untimely death of Purnachandra Majhi has drawn condolences from various political figures, including Lok Sabha MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, former Rajya Sabha MP N. Bhaskar Rao, senior Congress leaders Durga Prasad Panda, Shankarshan Mangaraj, Ajit Das, BJP district president Shiba Pattanaik, and Chandrakant Samal, all of whom have expressed their grief over his passing.
