Bhubaneswar, July 25: Gold mines in Odisha have at least 19.96 quintals of gold reserve.
Minister for Steel & Mines Bibhuti Bhusan Jena said it on Thursday in the Odisha Assembly.
Answering a question on the mines and mineral resources of the state raised by MLA Dhruba Charan Sahu, the Mines Minister said among other valuable minerals, Odisha mines have a reserve of 2.388 quintals of raw silver, 5.652 quintals of lignite and 4.865 metric ton of rare vanadium resources.
Apart from other ores, the Odisha mines treasure at least 94,281 million metric tons of carbon reach coal, said a written statement submitted by Jena during the session.
