Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: The Odisha government is taking steps towards the early operationalization of two crucial medical colleges - Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College and Hospital in Talcher and the Government Medical College & Hospital in Phulbani.
The functionalization of these institutions is expected to significantly improve medical services and provide long-awaited healthcare benefits to the people of the state.
In a key meeting held today via virtual mode, Health secretary Aswathy S. reviewed the progress to address the ongoing requirements for these institutions. The meeting focused on key areas such as ensuring the readiness of medical buildings and equipment, and identifying and addressing any gaps in the process. The goal is to open these medical colleges to patients as soon as possible.
To expedite the process, district collectors and relevant officers from both districts have been instructed to hold regular weekly meetings to fast-track all pending actions. This collaborative approach underscores the government's commitment to ensuring the swift functionalization of these institutions.
