New Delhi, March 18: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday rejected a request to stay the trial court proceedings against Delhi Law Minister Kapil Mishra, who is accused of posting objectionable tweets during the 2020 Assembly elections.
Justice Ravinder Dudeja issued a notice to Delhi Police in response to Mishra’s plea, which challenged a Sessions Court’s decision to dismiss his petition against a summons issued by a magisterial court in the matter.
“There is no need to stay the trial court proceedings. There is no halt on proceedings. This court does not find it necessary to stay the proceedings. The trial court is free to continue with the case,” the judge stated.
