Puri, March 15: Bollywood actress and BJP MP Hema Malini visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri today to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Holi. Representing Mathura in the Lok Sabha, the actress-turned-politician offered prayers at the 12th-century temple in the morning and joined in the Holi festivities in the pilgrim town.
"Holi was celebrated in Mathura yesterday, and today it’s being celebrated here. I am delighted to have the opportunity to play Holi with Lord Jagannath here in Puri," she said. Hema Malini also encouraged everyone to celebrate the festival with vibrant colors and flowers.
"Holi is a festival very dear to Lord Krishna. He used to play Holi with Goddess Radha and her associates. People should celebrate this festival with colors and flowers," she added.
The BJP MP also participated in traditional dances, including the Phul Bali and Phagua dance, alongside Naga Medha performers at a special event organized by BJP MP Sambit Patra, celebrating the Holi festival.
Known as the 'Dream Girl' of Bollywood and a classical dancer, Hema Malini was in Odisha for a dance performance in Bhubaneswar. She performed at the Vrindavan Mahotsav 2025, held at Rabindra Mandap on Friday, where her Bharatanatyam skills captivated the audience.
