Melbourne, Aug 29: Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell can win matches single handedly on his day. With a willow in hand, even if he is not fully fit, limping, or even has multiple cramps and muscle pulls, still he can take his team home through the aerial route.

Remember his barrage of sixes and match-winning double ton against Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2024. He was absolutely a treat to watch on that day, when he hardly could move. But one thing he did absolutely right was to hit the cricket ball hard to send it out of fence repeatedly. Unbelievable show indeed!

Well, that is not the solitary occasion. He has been a champion performer for Australia, especially in the white-ball formats for years. Maxwell has been an asset for various T20 franchises including the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for seasons.

Even with his useful off-spin variations, Maxwell can change the course of a game. An aggressive batter, useful bowler and a live-wire on the field, Glenn Maxwell is a complete all-round package for any team he plays.

He is a fighter to the core, which Maxwell has proved on numerous occasions. But the ongoing fallout of a horror broken leg suffered almost two years ago is the only serious threat to Glenn Maxwell’s potential return to Test cricket in Sri Lanka next year, a section of media revealed Thursday

The report stated that Maxwell continued to deal with the after-effects of the gruesome injuries he suffered at a friend’s birthday in November 2022.

But he does not think that a run of Sheffield Shield games will be required to book his spot in the Test squad. But he may to prove to selectors he could get his body through five consecutive days of cricket.

Maxwell last played a Test match in 2017 during the tour of Bangladesh and only has two first-class matches to his name since the end of 2019.

However, the 35-year destructive all-rounder reportedly stated that he is keen to play the ODIs against England. But hopes to play all three formats for Australia in future.

But a determined Maxwell can fight back his way to achieve any target. Those who are unsure, they need to remember his 2023 ODI World Cup heroics against Afghanistan.
