Nabarangpur, Jan 15: In a broad daylight heist, some masked robbers allegedly looted Rs 15 lakh cash from a trader in Raighar area of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district today.
As per reports, as many as six robbers waylaid a trader, identified as Abdul Ansari, and two of his associates at around the noon while they were on their way to the weekly haat at Chhatabeda under Parua gram panchayat.
Thereafter, they attacked the trio and took them at gunpoint before looting Rs 15 lakh cash from them and fleeing from the scene. Ansari sustained critical injuries in the attack and was admitted to a nearby hospital for tretament.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation. The cops have launched a probe to identify and nab the culprits involved.
Notably, two robbers had looted gold jewellery weighing around 100 gram and Rs 18 lakh in cash from the residence of a businessman at Nabarangpur town a few days back.
