Tirupati, October 27: Two hotels and the Varadaraja temple in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati received bomb threats on Sunday, reportedly from terrorist groups, marking the third consecutive day of such alerts in the town.
However, all threats were confirmed as hoaxes after thorough searches by police and bomb disposal squads.
This recent wave of threatening emails came under the name of DMK leader Jaffer Sadiq and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The email falsely claimed that bombs were planted at the hotels and temple, prompting swift action from law enforcement, who, assisted by sniffer dogs, found no explosives.
The email mentioned international pressure related to Jaffer Sadiq’s February arrest on narcotics charges by the Narcotics Control Bureau.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and reassured that no explosives were found.
Meanwhile, police continue their investigation to trace the source of these emails, which add to a series of recent bomb threats targeting various locations across India.
