Ranji Trophy: Baroda scores 354 for 6 against Odisha at day two stump

Bhubaneswar: Baroda opener Shivalik Sharma and middle-order batsman Vishnu Solanki scored 96 and 98 runs respectively and powered the team to score 354 for 6 against Odisha at the day two stumps of the Group A Ranji Trophy match at International Cricket Stadium, Kotambi, Vadodara on Sunday.

Though Sivalik and Vishnu missed their centuries by a whisker, their 121-run partnership for the fourth wicket set a strong foundation for Baroda. The team added 305 for 5 to their overnight score of 50 for 1 and scripted a 161 runs lead.

On the day one, a five-wicket haul by Mahesh Pithiya helped Baroda to restrict Odisha for 193 with Biplab Samantaray and Aashirwad Swain scoring 58 and 37 runs respectively. Mahesh Pithiya of Baroda caused maximum damage by picking 5 for 61. At day one stump, Baroda scored 50 for 1 in the first innings.
