India leads Global Disaster Management with 'Zero Casualty' Goal, says Amit Shah

Amaravati, January 19: India has emerged as a global leader in disaster management by prioritizing a 'zero casualty' objective during calamities, thanks to its robust disaster management infrastructure, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Sunday.

Minister Amit Shah also highlighted the significant support extended by the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that over Rs 3 lakh crore worth of projects have been approved for Andhra Pradesh in just the past six months.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was speaking at the 20th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Kondapavuluru, Krishna district. During the event, Shah inaugurated the southern campus of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and the 10th Battalion campus of the NDRF near Vijayawada. Additionally, he laid the foundation stones and inaugurated various projects valued at around Rs 220 crore.
