Ranchi, Dec 28: Raghubar Das, the outgoing governor of Odisha, expressed grief over passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and called it an "irreparable loss for the nation".
Recognising Dr. Manmohan Singh’s crucial role in India's economic liberalisation and his calm leadership style Raghubar Das said, "This was very sad news for everyone...His demise is an irreparable loss for the country... he worked for the nation and was a very composed man...Dr Manmohan Singh made a huge contribution to economic liberalisation to strengthen the country's economy."
The last rites of Dr Manmohan Singh was performed at the Nigambodh Ghat in the national capital on Saturday afternoon.
The former Prime Minister passed away at AIIMS, Delhi, on Thursday evening at the age of 92 due to old age-related health conditions. He had a sudden loss of consciousness at home after which he was rushed to the AIIMS Delhi.
