Bhubaneswar: Varun Dhawan’s south remake movie Baby John has bombed in the box office.
The movie has been declared as ‘Disaster’, as the budget of the movie has been approximately Rs 200cr. As per Sacnik, theVarun Dhawan starred movied netted in only Rs 39.5 cr in its 20-day theatrical run. Globally, the film managed to earn only Rs 60.4 crore.
The film has been produced by Jio Studios, A for Apple Productions and Cine1 studios, has been directed by Kalees. The Film is a remake of Atlee’s Tamil film Theri starring Vijay.
While Varun has been the lead star in the Movie, the main villain has been played by Jaggu dada. The film also featured Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajpal Yadav., including ₹39.34 crore within India.
JAGGU DADA FEELS SAD FOR WHOM?
The bombing of the film has impacted Jacki Shroff. In a candid interview to India Today digital, Jackie Shroff said,
"Dukh hota hai par khud ke liye nahi, producers ke liye (You do feel bad, but not for yourself, but for the producers). You tend to do your job with sincerity, but you also have to think about the people who have put in the money."
The ‘Hero’ of 80s revealed I don’t feel sad for myself but for the producers, who put lot of money.
Jackie also said, regardless of its success, every film leaves a mark on him as an actor
“As actors, of course, you want to be liked for your performance, but you also want it to work well," said Jaggu Dada
Meanwhile, Rajpal Yadav shedding light on the movie’s below par performance in Bollywood Bubble said that the spread of the word that it is a remake has hurt its prospect badly. He said:
“If this was not a remake then this would have been the most well made movie of my 25-year career. Since Vijay had done the movie, audiences have seen it. So, it affected Baby John at the BO.But varun is a very sweet boy. His efforts must be appreciated.”
