Mathura, Sept 6: The Janmashtami celebrations at the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, and this year will be dedicated to the dedicated ISRO scientists for their remarkable achievement in the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Kapil Sharma, the secretary of Sri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, shared that the deity's abode for the midnight celebration on September 7th has been named 'Somnath Pushp Bangla' in honor of ISRO chairman S. Somnath's contributions.
Sharma also mentioned that special attire for the Krishna idol has been meticulously crafted and named 'Pragyan Prabhas' in homage to the Pragyan rover. Expert designers from Bengal and Delhi are putting the finishing touches on this special attire.
Gopeshwar Nath Chaturvedi, a member of the temple management body, expressed his admiration for ISRO's achievement, highlighting that Chandrayaan-3 has successfully reached the Moon's South Pole. He praised the tenacity, sacrifice, and hard work of the scientists, echoing the sentiments of the entire nation.
To celebrate the 5,250th birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, who is believed to be from the Chandravanshi lineage, special features honoring ISRO scientists have been integrated into the festivities. Notably, a special artwork depicting the Pragyan rover will be displayed at the sacred Bhagwat Bhavan, situated in front of the deity's seat.
On August 23rd, the day the Pragyan lander module touched down on the Moon, special prayers were offered at key temples in Mathura to wish for the mission's success. The Janmashtami celebrations this year serve as a unique and grand platform to recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements of India's space scientists.
