Bhubaneswar: After delivering two consecutive all time blockbusters, Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan will not be seen on silver screen for the next 2-years.
The SRK starrer King, whose shooting schedule was to begin in March, faced a delay. It will now go on floors in June. According to recent reports, the postponement is due to director Siddarth Anand bringing in a refinement in the script to make it grander and grandeur.
‘King’ To Take Floor In June
As per a news report, Siddharth Anand and Shah Rukh Khan (who previously worked together on Pathaan) are aiming to deliver many notches better this time. The director is leaving no stone unturned to ensure everything perfect on paper before commencing production.
The reports say the film will be shot across exotic locations in India and Europe, with the makers targeting a late 2026 release. The production houses, Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix, are committed to delivering a grand cinematic experience on the big screen.
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, King will feature Suhana Khan in a major role. Munjya actor Abhay Verma is also a part of the cast.
But the delay hints at the film hitting the silvers screens only in 2027.
KING ON ‘KING’
SRK has been very vocal and super excited at this project. Speaking at the Locarno Film Festival, SRK described King as an action-packed Hindi film that he had been longing to do for years. He shared that the team initially brought Sujoy Ghosh on board because they wanted strong emotional depth in the story. He added that the film would be a mix of action, mass appeal, and emotions.
Also speaking at an event in Abu Dhabi, SRK revealed that that he would be filming for a few months but will not open up more as Siddharth Anand had strictly instructed him to not divulge details or even drop any hints.
But SRK promised his huge fandom that ‘King’ will be a super entertainer.
THE ‘KING’ COP
Even as Siddharth has instructed SRK to keep everything under lids, Thursday he released a poster of SRK wher SRK is seen in a cop role. Earlier, it was assumed that SRK would be playing the role of a don in the film King.
But after Siddharth Anand’s Insta post, it seems confirmed that SRK is playing the role of a ‘King’ –size cop in his upcoming film King.
