Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha, is gearing up to organise Krushi Odisha 2025, a three-day mega event from 3rd to 5th January 2025 at the Biju Patnaik Play Ground in Baramunda, Bhubaneswar.
The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, along with other dignitaries, in attendance.
This year’s theme, “A Step Towards Sustainable Food Systems,” will spotlight Climate Smart Agriculture, Organic Farming, and Water Governance. The three-day programme will cover:
Day 1: Climate Resilient Food Systems and Climate Smart Horticulture
Day 2: Soil Health and Natural Farming
Day 3: Pani Panchayat Pakhya Palan focusing on Sustainable Water Governance
Krushi Odisha 2025 aims to showcase Odisha’s vast potential and investment opportunities in agriculture, horticulture, food processing, fisheries, and animal husbandry.
The event is expected to draw over 10,000 participants, including farmers, self-help groups (SHGs), farmer producer organisations (FPOs), NGOs, agri-entrepreneurs, exporters, students, and research scholars.
Key highlights include 13 technical sessions, collaborations with government departments, ICAR, CGIAR, NGOs, and farmer-scientist interactions. More than 200 stalls will exhibit advanced agricultural technologies, farm produce, and machinery, bringing the theme “Seeing is Believing” to life.
Interactive activities such as quizzes, debates, storytelling, skits, and a virtual experience zone will engage participants, making the event more dynamic.
The government will also felicitate progressive farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, SHGs, and FPOs from Odisha’s 30 districts for their contributions to innovative and sustainable farming practices.
Krushi Odisha 2025 is poised to be a landmark event, fostering knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration to empower farmers and stakeholders in creating a sustainable agricultural future.
