Puri, June 4: Lord Jagannath in Puri was bedecked in elephant attire on Sunday following the Snana Yatra.
The sibling deities were also seen in the same attires after they took baths with 108 pitcher-full of scented and herbal treated water on the Snana Bedi(bath altar).
Earlier in the day, the deities were brought in a Dhadi Pahandi from the Ratnabedi (Sanctum Sanctorum) to the Snana Mandap for the holy grand bath on the occasion of Jyestha Purnima known as Snana Purnima. Chakraraj Sudarshan, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath were brought in order amid the sounds of cymbals and veda Mantras.
Following the pahandi, the deties were decked atop the Snana Mandap located in the Ananda Bazaar area.
The holy and grand bath began after Lord Madan Mohan, the movable idol of Lord Jagannath, met each other on the temple campus.
Crowd of devotees thronged the grand road and the Shree Jagannath temple in Puri today during the whole day for a glance of the Trinity's sacred bath on the open-air bath altar.
