Cuttack, February 22: Scores of passengers were rescued through windows after a massive fire broke out in a MoBus in Cuttack on Saturday.
The incident took place near the Birupa barrage under the Jagatpur Police Station.
As per reports, the MoBus was leaving Agrahata in Choudwar for Bhubaneswar in the evening with passengers. Meanwhile, a fire was noticed by the passengers en route.
On being aware of massive smoke and flames, passengers tried to exit soon from the vehicle through the doors but in vain as the power-doors did not function then.
Following this, locals, responding to the alarms of the passengers, rescued all breaking through the windows.
On being informed, fire services team rushed to the spot and controlled the flames.
Reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained. A technical team led by the CRUT authorities, is taking stock of the matter.
