Puri, Dec 28: Ahead of the New Year, stringent security measures have been announced for Puri town and the Shree Jagannath Temple, as announced by Puri SP Vinit Agarwal.
In a media briefing on Saturday, SP Agarwal shared that the police have arranged comprehensive security measures for both devotees and tourists visiting the sacred town.
All necessary security provisions in every area, from inside and outside the temple to the sea beaches and traffic zones, ensuring a hassle-free experience for everyone," said SP Agarwal.
The devotees arriving from Bhubaneswar will park their vehicles at Jail Road Parking and Saradha Bali. Visitors coming from Konark will use Talabania Ground for parking, while those arriving from Brahmagiri will park at Jatrika Parking. Certain areas, including Medical Chowk, Lighthouse Chowk, Subhash Chowk, and Acharya Hari Hara Chowk, will be designated as no-vehicle zones.
Only two-wheelers will be allowed in these areas, while four-wheelers will be restricted. Puri SP urged all devotees to cooperate with the Puri police and follow traffic guidelines.
Additionally, SP Agarwal announced the installation of CCTV cameras throughout Puri city to monitor the security situation. A dedicated control room will be set up to manage the crowd effectively. Special police teams will patrol Puri Beach, with live guards stationed in the area to ensure the safety and satisfaction of tourists visiting the beach.
