Washington DC, January 19 : Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani had met US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday, a day before his oath-taking as the 47th President of the United States.
The Ambanis, who arrived in Washington DC on January 18, are set to attend Trump’s swearing-in ceremony at the US Capitol. According to event planners, the couple will be seated prominently alongside other distinguished guests, including Cabinet nominees and elected officials.
Inaugural events commenced on Saturday with a reception and fireworks display at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. On Sunday, the Ambanis participated in a "candlelight dinner" hosted by President-elect Trump. The dinner offered an exclusive gathering with Vice President-elect JD and Usha Vance, making it one of the most anticipated events of the weekend.
The inauguration is expected to host several high-profile attendees. Among them are Indian business tycoons Nita and Mukesh Ambani, alongside global tech leaders such as Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. French billionaire and entrepreneur Xavier Niel, accompanied by his wife, will also be in attendance.
Additionally, Mark Zuckerberg is co-hosting a black-tie reception on Monday with Republican mega-donor Miriam Adelson to celebrate the inauguration. The Ambanis are expected to be part of this exclusive gathering as well.
Donald Trump, who previously served as the 45th President from 2017 to 2021, will officially take the oath of office on Inauguration Day. Representing India, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will attend the ceremony.
