Bhubaneswar, February 8: A devastating accident claimed the lives of three individuals when their motorcycle collided with a roadside tree near Dimia village in Baghda panchayat, within the jurisdiction of Suliapada police, in the Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.

Reports indicate that the trio was returning from the ‘ghata uttolan’ ceremony at Bhim Mela in Singhada when the accident occurred. The motorcyclist reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal crash into the tree.

Residents quickly responded, transporting the injured individuals to the nearest government hospital with the help of the 108 ambulance service. However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were later transferred to the district hospital in Baripada. Tragically, doctors declared all three dead upon arrival.

The identities of the deceased have not been confirmed, and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
