New Delhi, February 8: Speculation surrounding the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) choice for the next Chief Minister in Delhi intensified on Saturday following the party's remarkable victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, marking a return to power after more than 26 years.
The BJP secured 48 seats out of the 70-member Assembly, signaling a decisive shift in the political landscape.
Among the notable victors was Pravesh Verma, whose impressive win over AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi by 4,089 votes boosted his political standing, positioning him as a strong contender for the chief minister's position in the upcoming BJP-led government.
In addition to Verma, the BJP’s success saw several seasoned leaders emerge as key figures in the race for the CM post, according to party insiders.
