Bhubaneswar, February 17: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Odisha Assembly Naveen Patnaik has strongly criticized the state budget for fiscal 2025-26 presented by Mohan Majhi Led Odisha government on Monday.
Analysing the heads and budgetary provisions in detail, Naveen said that the “Double engine government is moving in reverse gear.”
Commenting the today’s budget Patnaik said, it seems that the double-engine government is going in reverse gear.
Naveen also said, a very large sum of money from the last budget has not been spent. Industrial growth is going down, and so are the finances of our state. The prices of essential commodities are affecting everyone in Odisha. The suicide of farmers continues. Women are not getting work under Mission Shakti. Unemployment is spiraling.
To announce a large sum of money in the budget is not important. What has to be done is the expenditure to be spent for the development of our state, Naveen added.
“I repeat again, that this is a budget that must be spent for the people of Odisha. We will watch and see what is being spent”, he added.
