Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: Fulfilling a key promise made by the BJP, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the upgraded pension scheme aimed at benefiting elderly and differently-abled citizens in the state.
CM Majhi introduced the enhanced pension scheme during his visit to Keonjhar district.
As per reports, people who are aged 80 years or above and differently-abled persons with a disability level of 80% or higher will now receive a monthly pension of Rs 3,500 under the scheme.
Speaking at the event, CM Majhi emphasized the importance of ensuring dignity and financial security for elderly and differently-abled citizens in the state.
He further highlighted the changes and said, “Under the previous government, the pension amount was only Rs 1,200 per month. We have increased it to Rs 3,500 as part of our commitment. This initiative will directly benefit nearly four lakh people across Odisha.”
