Odisha CM to hold grievance hearing session for the first time in Sambalpur today

Sambalpur, Ap 21: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to conduct a physical grievance hearing session at the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) office in Durgapali on Monday, marking the first such initiative outside the state capital.

The session, scheduled to commence at 8 am, will witness the presence of 11 ministers. This includes Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo and Panchayati Raj and Water Resources Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, who confirmed the details during a preparatory visit to the venue on Saturday.

 

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Naik, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Food and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushnachandra Patra, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Mines and Industry Minister Bibhuti Jena, Urban Development Minister Krushnachandra Mahapatra, Forest Minister Ganesh Ram Khuntia, Cooperation Minister Pradeep Balsamanta, and Fisheries & Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda Mallik, will attend the grievance cell today.

 

At least, 18 platoons of forces will be deployed to manage the crowd at the SMC office and the VIP movement. Parking arrangements have been made near the venue for people, who would travel to the city from Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sonepur.

 

Residents from 10 districts of western Odisha, including Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Sonepur will have the opportunity to voice their concerns during the session. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between governance and grassroots-level concerns, ensuring better transparency and faster grievance redressal.

 

While 1,000 grievances have been registered online and offline, an additional 300-400 walk-in complainants expected and on-spot registration will be available under tented areas fitted with coolers.
