Cuttack, Feb 13: As many as three long-distance trains will be diverted for a month due to the construction of an air concourse and modernization work at the Cuttack Railway Station, informed the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
According to ECoR, the following trains will be temporarily affected:
- Coimbatore-Silchar Weekly Super-Fast Express arriving at Cuttack on Tuesdays
- Ernakulam-Patna Bi-Weekly Express arriving on Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Bengaluru-Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express arriving on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Instead of the usual Barang-Cuttack-Kapilas Road, these temporarily diverted trains will now follow a new route via Barang-Naraj Marthapur-Kapilas Road. These trains will bypass their scheduled stops at the Cuttack station but will make a temporary stop at Naraj Marthapur railway station from February 16 to March 17.
The Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) will offer free bus services to passengers of the temporarily diverted trains between Cuttack railway station and Naraj Marthapur railway station during this period.
Additionally, passengers who are scheduled to board or alight at Cuttack railway station will be provided with free bus service between Naraj Marthapur and Cuttack railway stations in both directions during the same period.
