Bhubaneswar, February 12: The Odisha government on Wednesday implemented a hike in Junior Teachers’(Schematic) honorarium.
As many as 13, 740 Junior teachers engaged under the aegis of the Samagra Sikshya Abhiyan (SSA) have received the revised scale of honorarium that is Rs 16,000 per month.
It was Rs 11.000 earlier. The hike was announced on January 17 in pursuance to CM Mohan Charan Majhi's order.
Apart from it, an amount of Rs 1950 was credited to the teachers’ account as contribution towards EPF.
The School & Mass Education department released a notification announcing the enhancement of the monthly remuneration.
“Government after careful consideration has been pleased to enhance the monthly remuneration of the Junior Teachers (Schematic) engaged in Primary and Upper Primary Schools of the State under Samagra Sikshya Scheme from Rs. 11,100 to Rs.16,000,” read the order.
