Cuttack, April 3: In a bid to make Odisha quack free, the state government has informed the Orissa High Court that stringent action will be taken against fake doctors.
The Odisha government has decided to form anti-quack cells in all districts. Complaints will be registered at police stations on receiving reports of fake doctors and arrests will be made immediately, it apprised the High Court in an affidavit.
Besides, the names of government registered doctors will be uploaded on the website of Odisha Council of Medical Registration. Local public representatives and common people will be informed about the registered doctors in panchayat and rural areas across the state. In the earlier hearing, the Orissa High Court had directed the state health department to take special initiatives to find out fake doctors.
