Koraput, Nov 5: In a horrifying incident, a 21-year-old woman - Sabi Khara was brutally murdered by unidentified miscreants near Khudubi Chhak in Koraput district. Meanwhile, her husband, Mahendra Khara, was tied to a nearby tree while the heinous act was committed.
Sources said, a couple was returning home on Monday evening when they were attacked by five miscreants. The miscreants assaulted Mahendra, tied him to a tree, and then robbed gold jewelry from Sabi and then murdered her, leaving her husband to witness the horrific crime.
The miscreants fled the spot after committing the crime, leaving Mahendra injured and traumatized.
Being informed, police reached the spot and shifted Mahendra to the Nandapur Community Health Centre for medical treatment.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and sent the victim’s body for a post-mortem.
