Sundargarh, Nov 2: Six members of a Kirtan groupe died and another six persons got critically injured after a van (Tata Magic) they were travelling in hit a truck in Odisha last night, police said. The accident took place on MCL-Toparia Road near Gaikanapali area under Hemagiri police limits in Sundargarh district in the midnight. The impact of the collision was so high that six people, including the driver, died on the spot, while six others suffered severe injuries.Police reached the spot being informed about the accident and rushed the injured to Hemagiri hospital. All the victims are members of a Kirtan group. The accident took place when they were returning back attending a death anniversary programme.The driver of the van failed to mark a stationary truck due to dense fog and hit it, said police. The deceased were identified as residents of the Kandhatudha area under Hemagiri police limits.
