Nayagarh, Nov 2: A Maoist camp was busted in a forest in Nuapada district and seized 500 electric detonators and other incriminating articles from the spot, police said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, two special operation groups (SOG) launched a search operation in Patdhara and Sunabeda reserve forests on the night of October 30.
One SOG Assault team identified a suspected Maoist camp associated with the DGN divisional committee of the CPI (Maoist) on Friday during the search operation in a dense forest near Bhainsamundi (Bahadurpani) village.
Huge explosive materials were recovered from the spot, however, no cadres were nabbed, said police.
The recovery suggests the site served as a temporary hideout of CPI (Maoist) cadres. Another security team was deployed on Friday evening to intensify the search operation in the region, said police.
