Bhubaneswar: Odisha Kabaddi Association in association with Sports and Youth services Department Odisha is all set to host the 71st Senior National Men’s Kabaddi Championship at Jawaharlal Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from 20-23 February.
This is for the first time the State is going to host the senior national tournament. Earlier in the year 2017 the State successfully organised the National Junior Kabaddi championship at Cuttack.
Altogether 30 districts and three services teams are expected to take part in the league cum knockout format.
“It’s a matter of pride for the State to host a senior national kabaddi tournament. We will put our best effort to make it a grand success. It will be a tough tournament as a maximum of Pro Kabaddi League players will play in the meet”, said Odisha Kabaddi Association Secretary Ajaya Kumar Behera.
More than 550 players and officials from across the country will congregate for the event. We are planning a grand gala opening ceremony. The spectators can collect their entry pass from the stadium gate, Barabati Kabaddi Complex, State Kabaddi Association office, added Behera.
