Puri, Apr 2: In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly beaten to death by a group of family members over a minor dispute in Brahmagiri locality of Odisha’s Puri district last night.
The deceased youth has been identified as Nakula Samal and the incident has been reported from Tiarpari village under Brahmagiri police limits in the district.
As per reports, the members of a family from the same village tied Nakula to a coconut tree and then attacked him with sticks and other sharp objects.
As a result, the youth sustained grievous injuries and died. Thereafter, they dumped the victim’s body near his house.
Upon getting the information, Brahmagiri police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The victim’s mother, Bisika Samal, has filed a complaint in which she alleged that her son was murdered. She demanded stringent action against the culprits.
It looks like a pre-planned attack. The body bore multiple injury marks. Further investigation into the matter was underway, said the police.
