Cuttack, Feb 14: In an unfortunate incident, a youth was electrocuted while trying to steal coal from a goods train wagon in Athagarh area of Odisha’s Cuttack district today morning.
The identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, the mishap occurred when the deceased youth had secretly climbed atop one of the wagons of a goods train transporting coal was halted at the Gurudiajhatia railway station yard in the Athagarh area.
He accidentally came in contact with the live high-voltage overhead wire and was electrocuted on the spot.
Upon getting the information, Railway Police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent it for post-mortem.
The officials have launched a probe into the matter.
