Nagpur, Mar 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre in Maharashtra’s Nagpur.
He was accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis among other leaders.
As per reports, Madhav Netralaya is a specialized eye hospital and research centre dedicated to providing "world-class Tertiary Ophthalmic services with compassion, precision and innovation."
The hospital is equipped with a team of highly skilled ophthalmologists, optometrists, nurses, and support staff. It also focuses on community outreach programs, vision screenings, and educational initiatives to promote eye health awareness.
The Managing Director of the centre, (Retd) Major General Anil Bam, is an alumnus of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
The centre will offer treatments in various fields, including, Cornea and refractive surgery, Retina and vitreous care, Glaucoma and cataract surgery, Paediatric ophthalmology, Ocular immunology and uveitis, Oculoplasty, oncology, and low vision services.
People can also register for eye donation and volunteer at the hospital. The centre will be open every day from 9 AM to 8 PM.
