Pradhan hails Subhadra Yojana for empowering over 1 crore women in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan praised the Subhadra Yojana for significantly uplifting the morale of women and serving as a powerful symbol of women empowerment. He expressed his satisfaction, noting that the scheme has now benefited over 1 crore women, empowering them to become self-reliant.

In a post on his X handle, Pradhan highlighted that the number of beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana, launched in Odisha has surpassed 1 crore. He extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Deputy Chief Minister Parvati Parida for their roles in ensuring the successful implementation of this initiative.

Pradhan described the Subhadra Yojana as a pivotal project under the Prime Minister’s Jugantkariya Yojana. During a video conference, he announced that financial aid of Rs. 115 crore has been distributed to more than 2.30 lakh mothers and sisters in the fifth phase of the first installment of the scheme. Additionally, he mentioned that the Odisha state government has disbursed over Rs. 5,000 crore to more than 1 crore beneficiaries as part of this program.

Under the scheme, eligible mothers receive Rs. 50,000 in two annual installments of Rs. 10,000, over a span of five years, aimed at enhancing their economic independence and empowerment.
