Bhubaneswar, Ap 2: The Sacred Rukuna Rath Yatra, dedicated to Lord Lingaraj, is all set to take place on April 5, 2025, and preparations are in full swing. Devotees from various regions are expected to take part in this grand and important festival.
To manage the large crowd expected during the event, traffic diversions will be implemented, and steps will be taken to ensure the chariot procession goes smoothly without any obstructions along the route.
With the weather being quite hot, water sprinklers will be placed along the route to keep everyone cool, and enough drinking water will be provided for the public.
For security, a team of police and other law enforcement officers will be deployed to make sure everything runs without any problems.
The Rukuna Rath Yatra takes place during the Ashokastami festival, which falls in the month of Chaitra, and is a major event in Odisha. The festival lasts for five to seven days and is also called the ‘Papa Binashakari Yatra,’ meaning it is believed to help remove evil and sins. The Rukuna Rath, also known as the ‘Analeuta’ chariot, follows a straight path during its return journey, symbolizing the idea of continuity.
With all arrangements in place, the celebrations are expected to be a grand success.
