Bhubaneswar, Feb 29: President Droupadi Murmu, who is on a four-day Odisha visit, is scheduled to address the 53rd convocation ceremony of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar this evening.
The President is scheduled to arrive in the university at 5:30 pm and address the convocation ceremony at 6.15 pm. She will leave the university premises at 6.35 pm, said Utkal University vice-chancellor Sabita Acharya.
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das will preside over the ceremony and Higher Education Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak will grace the occasion as guest of honour.
Notably, as many as 166 scholars of Utkal University will receive their PhD degrees at the convocation ceremony today.
Special arrangements including laying of a special corridor to welcome the President and installation of a large LED panel in the university’s auditorium for live streaming of the convocation ceremony have been made.
